Teams, Roles & Permissions
Roles Overview
The three organization roles in Convot - owner, admin, and agent - and what each can do.
Every team member in Convot has one organization role. The role determines their default access across the product.
The three roles
Owner
Full access to everything: settings, billing, apps, team management, conversations, reports, and revenue data. Owners can add and remove other members, change roles, and delete the organization.
You can have multiple owners. Any owner can invite new owners.
Admin
Can manage apps, settings, team members, and all conversations. Admins have access to Reports by default. They do not have access to Shopify revenue data by default - that must be explicitly granted per member.
Admins can invite agents and admins, but cannot invite or demote owners (unless you are an owner yourself).
Agent
Can handle conversations, add notes, resolve/reopen, tag, and assign. Agents do not see Reports or revenue data by default. They can be granted access to either or both via per-member permission overrides.
Agents cannot access app settings, team management, or billing.

Inviting with a role
When you invite a teammate, you choose their role. You can only assign roles up to your own level. Agents can’t invite anyone. Admins can invite agents or admins. Owners can invite anyone.
Invited users receive an email with a link that expires in 7 days.
Changing a role
Go to Settings → Team, find the member row, click the role badge, and select a new role. Changes take effect immediately.
You cannot change the super-owner’s role. The super-owner is permanently set as the organization creator. See The super-owner.
Fine-tuning with permission overrides
Beyond the role defaults, individual members can be granted or revoked access to specific features. See Permission overrides.
