Slack notifications

Post the events you care about — new conversations, frustrated customers, revenue changes, bookings, and more — straight to your Slack channels.

Updated June 24, 2026

Convot can post to your Slack channels when the things you care about happen — so your team stays on top of conversations and revenue without living in the inbox. It’s one-way: Convot sends messages into Slack; you reply and work from the Convot inbox as usual.

ℹ️

Slack notifications are configured by an owner or admin, in Settings → Integrations → Slack.

How it works

You connect a Slack channel by pasting its Incoming Webhook URL, then choose which events should post there. Each connected channel is independent, so you can route different events to different places — escalations to #urgent, new chats to #support, revenue to #wins.

Step 1 — Create a Slack Incoming Webhook

In Slack:

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps and create an app (or open an existing one) in your workspace.
  2. Open Incoming Webhooks and turn them On.
  3. Click Add New Webhook to Workspace, choose the channel you want Convot to post in, and Allow.
  4. Copy the Webhook URL — it looks like https://hooks.slack.com/services/T000/B000/xxxxxxxx.
💡

You’ll create one webhook URL per Slack channel. To post to two channels, repeat this step and add each as a separate channel in Convot.

Step 2 — Add the channel in Convot

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Add channel.
  2. Give it a label (e.g. “Support alerts”), paste the Webhook URL, and pick the events to send.
  3. Save. The channel is live immediately.

Choosing events

Events are grouped so they’re easy to scan:

  • Support — New conversation, Frustrated customer, AI answer marked unhelpful, Escalated to engineering.
  • Product — New feature request, New roadmap comment.
  • Bookings — New booking, Booking cancelled.
  • Revenue — Churn / uninstall, Reinstall / recovery, New install, Upgrade, Downgrade, Trial → paid, MRR milestone, Churn risk.

Use the All events option at the top of the picker to select everything at once, or check just the ones you want.

Filters — control the noise

Some events let you narrow what posts, right next to the event in the Filters section:

  • New conversation — choose All conversations, Unassigned only (a shared “needs a human” queue), or High-value only above a monthly revenue you set.
  • Revenue events (churn, upgrade, downgrade, churn risk) — set a minimum merchant MRR so you only hear about merchants above a threshold. Leave it at $0 to include everyone.
ℹ️

Revenue filters and events use the merchant revenue from your connected Shopify Partner API. See Shopify Integration.

Multiple apps

If your organization has more than one app, each channel can target All apps or specific ones — so you can keep #app-one-support and #app-two-support separate. The selector only appears when you have multiple apps.

Preview before you rely on it

Every channel has a Test menu. Open it, check the Generic test message and/or any events, and click Send — Convot posts a realistic sample of each to your channel so you can see exactly how it’ll look. Test as many as you like at once.

Managing channels

  • Toggle a channel on/off without deleting it.
  • The status dot shows the last delivery result (green = delivered, red = failed — hover for the error).
  • Edit to change the label, URL, events, or filters; delete to remove it.

Good to know

  • One-way. Convot posts to Slack; it doesn’t read replies. Keep working from the Convot inbox.
  • Revenue events require the Shopify Partner API to be connected, and arrive within about five minutes (Shopify reports them on a poll, not instantly).
  • Churn alerts surface when a merchant who recently spoke with support uninstalls — pairing the lost revenue with the conversation so you can try a save.
  • Slack rate limits are handled automatically with retries.
