The Super-Owner

The super-owner is the permanent organization creator - the only person who can delete the organization, and the only role that cannot be changed or removed.

Updated June 11, 2026

When someone creates a Convot organization, they become the super-owner. There is exactly one super-owner per organization, and it is always the person who originally created it.

What makes the super-owner different

The super-owner has all the same capabilities as a regular owner, plus two exclusive permissions:

  1. Delete the organization: only the super-owner can permanently delete the organization and all its data. Regular owners cannot do this.
  2. Cannot be removed or demoted: no one (not even another owner) can remove the super-owner from the organization or change their role. The super-owner is a permanent member.

How it appears in the UI

In Settings → Team, the super-owner’s role badge shows “Super owner” (in violet) instead of “Owner”. There are no action buttons (remove, change role) on their row.

Why it exists

The super-owner model prevents a scenario where all owners are removed or demoted, leaving an organization orphaned with no one who can manage billing or delete it. The creator always retains ultimate control.

It also creates a clear accountability anchor: there is always one person who can be held responsible for the organization.

Practical implications

  • If you are the super-owner and you leave the company: transfer key access to other owners before you go. You will not be removable from the organization, which means you will retain visibility into it even if you are no longer with the company.
  • If you need to transfer super-ownership: this requires contacting Convot support. It is not self-service.
  • If you are an admin or agent and someone needs to delete the organization: only the super-owner can do this from Settings → Organization → Danger zone.

Invitations cannot create super-owners

When inviting a new member, you can choose owner, admin, or agent. No invite flow can grant super-owner status. The super-owner designation is set only at organization creation.
