Branding and languages

Configure which languages your public site supports and set the default language. Logo upload is coming soon.

Updated June 11, 2026

The Branding and Languages card on the Public Site settings page controls which languages your public site supports and which one visitors see by default. Logo upload is planned and not yet available. Find this card at Settings > Apps > [your app] > Public site.

Languages

Your public site can serve content in multiple languages. The language a visitor sees is determined by the URL path prefix (for example, /en/ or /es/).

Adding and removing languages

The language grid shows all supported languages. Active languages are highlighted in indigo.

  • Add a language: click any language tile to enable it. It turns indigo to confirm.
  • Remove a language: click an active language tile to deactivate it. You must always have at least one language - the last active one cannot be removed.

After making changes, click Save changes to persist them.

ℹ️

Removing a language from the list does not delete your articles. Articles written in that language still exist in the database. They just become unreachable from the public site until you re-enable the language.

Setting the default language

The default language is served when a visitor visits your site without a language prefix (or with an unrecognized one).

To change the default:

  1. Make sure the language you want is already enabled (active, highlighted in indigo).
  2. Click the small SET badge on that language tile. It turns to DEFAULT and switches to a solid indigo badge.
  3. Click Save changes.

The default language always stays enabled - you cannot remove it. To remove a language that is currently the default, first set a different language as the default, then remove the old one.

See Multi-language articles to learn how to create article translations, and Widget translations for translating the chat widget itself.

The public site model supports a logo, footer logo, and banner image. Logo upload is not yet available in the UI. If you already have a logo set (for example, from a previous import), a preview is shown as a read-only image. The upload controls are coming in a future release.

💡

Once logo upload ships, you will be able to set a logo and footer logo directly from this page without any code or support request.
