Custom Domains
Using a Free convot.help Subdomain
Every Convot help center gets a free convot.help subdomain that works immediately with no DNS setup.
Every help center you create in Convot is available immediately at a <slug>.convot.help address. No DNS setup, no certificate management, no configuration required.
This is the default and always available, even if you later add a custom domain. The two addresses coexist - your custom domain takes precedence when it’s verified, but the convot.help URL continues to work as a fallback.
Finding your help center URL
Your help center URL is based on the slug of your helpdesk. The slug is derived from your helpdesk name when you create it, and can be changed in your helpdesk settings.
To find your current URL:
- Go to Settings → Apps → [your app] → Helpdesk.
- Your default hosted URL is shown there. It looks like
https://<slug>.convot.help.
Multiple helpdeskss on one app
If your app has multiple helpdeskss (for example, one in English and one in Spanish), each has its own slug and its own convot.help address.
When you add a custom domain, you choose a primary helpdesk that serves the root of the custom domain. Other helpdeskss are available at /<slug> paths under the custom domain.
Sharing the link with customers
You can link to your help center from your app, your widget, your email footers, or anywhere else. The convot.help address is permanent and stable - it won’t change unless you rename your helpdesk slug.
Upgrading to a custom domain later
If you start with the default convot.help address and add a custom domain later, traffic that reaches the convot.help URL is not redirected. Both addresses keep working. If you want to redirect old URLs, set up a redirect at your DNS provider or in your app code.
See Custom domain for your help center when you’re ready to set up your own domain.
