Exporting and Deleting Data

How to export your data from Convot and how to delete contacts or your organization.

Updated June 11, 2026

Deleting a contact

To delete a contact and all their associated data:

  1. Open the contact in Contacts.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the contact view.
  3. Click Delete contact.

Deleting a contact removes their profile, all conversations and messages linked to them, and any identifying data. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Deleting your organization

The super-owner (the original creator of the organization) can delete the entire organization from Settings → Organization → Delete organization. This permanently deletes:

  • All conversations, messages, and contacts.
  • All apps, help center articles, changelog entries, and roadmap items.
  • All team members (they lose access immediately).
  • All integrations and settings.
⚠️

Organization deletion is permanent and irreversible. Make sure you’ve exported anything you need before proceeding.

Requesting a data export

Convot does not currently have a self-serve export button in the product. To request an export of your data (conversations, contacts, articles, etc.), email [email protected] with your organization name and what you need. We’ll prepare an export and send it to the account owner’s email address.

Contact deletion requests from your customers

If one of your end users (a merchant using your Shopify app) asks you to delete their data under GDPR or another privacy law, you can delete their contact record from Contacts as described above. This removes all identifying information and conversation history associated with that person from your Convot account.

If you need help with a specific deletion request, contact us at [email protected].
